"Mrs Pitts, 17 Market Square, Bicester, has received information from the Central Prisoners of War Committee that her nephew, Pte. G.F.T. Austing, of the Wiltshire Regiment, has in Germany died from diptheria and colic. No further particulars are given except that the news of the death of Pte. Austin was contained in an official German list. The deceased soldier, who was formerly of Blackthorn, was 19 years of age." Bicester Advertiser 27/12/1918
