"The death took place in the 19th General Hospital, Alexandria, on Jan. 1st, of Pte. William Hodges, of Middleton Stoney. The cause of death was reported as bronchitis and enteric fever.
Deceased joined the Army Veterinary Corps on March 23rd of last year, and a very few weeks afterwards was sent to the Dardanelles. He was 41 years of age, and leaves a wife and two children." Bicester Herald 14/01/1916
