"Official information has been received that Private Bert King, of the Border Regiment, son of Mr Charles King, of 4, Wales Cottages, Crump’s Butts, Bicester, has been killed in action. Private King joined the army in June 1916, and was sent to France about a fortnight after he enlisted. He was married, and had four children. Much sympathy is felt for Mr King, who has one other son in the present war and one who was in the army and died before the war broke out." Bicester Advertiser 07/06/1918
