"A communication has been received from the Record Office Welsh Regiment, Shrewsbury, notifying the death in action of Pte. G. Aldridge (Welsh Regiment) which occurred on July 7th. The place of death is not stated. Pte. Aldridge, who was 36 years of age, was an Arncott man, and the fifth son of Mr. Aldridge, of Blackthorn." Bicester Herald 11/08/1916
