Son of George Pollard, of 4 North Street. A chemist's porter. Killed in action.

"Mr and Mrs George Pollard, of North Street, have received information that their son, Pte. J. Pollard, of the Oxon and Bucks Light Infantry, has been killed in action. The information was conveyed in a letter from an officer in his Battalion who says he was killed instantaneously on October 24th and buried in a cemetery near by. Pte. Pollard was 20 years of age. He joined the army in January last, and proceeded to France in June." Bicester Advertiser 02/11/1917
