"Private John Sansom (Grenadier Guards) has died from wounds. He is a son of Mr F. Sansom, formerly of Bicester, and a grandson of Mrs Sansom, of Woodfield. The chaplain of a French hospital wrote that he was severely wounded in the neck on October 9th, and subsequently his death in hospital was reported. He enlisted soon after the outbreak of war, and went to the Front in June, He was 21 years of age." Bicester Herald 22/10/1915
