Son of Thomas & Charlotte Scragg, of 22 Australia Avenue, Maidenhead. Brother of Sidney. Born in Upper Heyford. Killed in action in the Battle of the Selle.

"We regret to record the death of Pte. Jesse Scragg, son of Mr Thomas Scragg, of Upper Heyford, which took place in action in France, on October 26th. Deceased was in the Oxon and Bucks Light Infantry, having enlisted in July, 1916. He went to France the following October, where he had been ever since except for a period of leave which expired only about a fortnight before he was killed. Pte. Scragg was 34 years of age and married." Bicester Advertiser 22/11/1918
