"Mrs Temple, of 33, North-street, Bicester, late of “Promised Land,” Oxford-road, has been informed of the death of her husband, Sapper G. Temple, of the Royal Engineers, which took place, from bronchitis, on Jan. 16th.
An old soldier (he had previously served 12 years), he joined up not long after the outbreak of war, and the majority of his further 19 months of service had been spent in France. He had never been home on leave, and his family (a large one) had not seen him since the day he joined up. He was 49 years of age." Bicester Herald 26/01/1917
