Son of Samuel & Ann Tibbetts, of Bucknell. Husband of Edith Tibbetts, of 2 Spring Gardens, Bicester. Born in Bucknell.

"Another Bicester man has given his life for his Country. Mrs Tibbetts of 2, Spring Gardens, has received news that her husband, Pte. H.E.R. Tibbetts, of the Oxon and Bucks Light Infantry, has died of wounds received in action. The news is not official, but there seems little doubt as to its accuracy. Pte. Tibbetts had only been discharged from hospital a few days, having suffered from dysentery. The news of his death was communicated to his wife by a sergeant in the Royal Fusiliers. The late soldier was a bomb-thrower, having been through a special course before going to France. He was thirty-four years of age." Bicester Advertiser 04/05/1917
